MMEngineering are the preferred flood defence supplier for a major distribution network operator.
Working with their tier one delivery partners, we are defending their assets during the RIIO ED1 budget period. The opportunity to start working with this customer arose following a series of widespread failures when products installed by their previous supplier were tested as part of a rolling programme of on-site flood tests.
As part of our delivery, we carried out comprehensive flood defence at the Greyfriars Substation site. Our role in this project was to provide custom-built pedestrian and vehicular flood gates to tie into the main contractors flood walls. The vehicular gates are cast into the ground and surrounding walls and therefore require clever cooperation at both design and delivery stage.
The project was completed on schedule and on budget, and all gates passed the on-site test without any leakage. Every product we have installed on these sites was followed up with rigorous testing, and every one has passed.
